Jeethu
Joseph's
latest
directorial
venture
Memories
is
another
hyped
movie
of
the
year
2013.
The
movie
marked
the
comeback
of
Prithviraj
once
again
as
a
police
officer.
Sam
Alex
(Prithviraj)
is
a
responsible
police
officer,
who
is
assigned
a
special
task
of
investing
a
murder
case
by
his
superior.
As
a
family
man,
Sam
is
extremely
close
to
his
wife
and
his
daughter.
But
he
is
a
chronic
alcoholic
too.
How
Sam
manges
to
investigate
the
case
balancing
his
personal
life
is
the
story
all
about.
The
main
highlight
of
the
movie
is
how
the
director
picturises
Sam
onscreen.
His
family,
past
life
and
issues
with
his
current
family
after
earning
the
tag
of
a
drunkard
were
emotionally
shot
with
some
brilliant
moments.
There
wasn't
a
single
moment
for
unnecessary
melodrama.
The
investigation
scenes
were
conducted
meticulously.
The
frames
were
simply
outstanding.
Right
from
the
very
first
frame,
we
can
feel
that
the
director
has
chosen
a
different
lane
where
we
can
see
him
being
innovative
as
well
as
brilliant.
One
of
the
very
few
scripts
which
develops
as
the
narration
progresses
from
scene
to
scene.
Memories
has
some
novelty
in
it,
even
though
we
can
see
slight
traces
of
1980s
Malayalam
thriller,
but
the
similarity
ends
there.
Prithviraj
has
done
full
justice
to
his
role.
The
actor
is
on
a
high.
All
the
other
cast
including
Vijayaraghavan,
Suresh
Krishna,
Rahul,
Vanitha
etc.,
have
shown
fine
performances,
while
the
cast
of
newcomers
were
unimpressive.
The
music
and
the
background
score
are
impressive.
Sujith
Vaassudev
has
done
it
brilliantly
when
it
comes
to
cinematography.
The
frames
gave
the
movie
the
right
mood
according
to
each
scene.
John
Kutty's
editing
was
fine.
Saburam's
art
direction
can
be
highlighted
with
the
wood
work.
The
make
up
department
gave
the
apt
look
for
each
characters,
especially
Prithviraj.

Memories
Review...
Memories
Memories
is
the
latest
movie
directed
by
Jeethu
Joseph.
This
is
his
fourth
movie
as
a
director.
His
last
flick
was
My
Boss,
starring
Dileep
and
Mamta
Mohandas
in
the
lead.
Prithviraj
Prithviraj
has
rocked
with
his
performance
in
Memories.
As
a
police
officer,
the
actor
has
always
made
his
audience
satisfied
and
he
has
repeated
his
magic
once
again.
Meghna
Raj
This
is
the
first
time
Meghna
Raj
is
pairing
opposite
Prithviraj.
She
plays
the
wife
of
Prithviraj
in
Memories
and
has
done
complete
justice
to
her
role.
Jeethu
Joseph
As
a
director,
Jeethu
Joseph
has
once
again
proved
himself
sucessful.
Jeethu
has
chosen
a
different
lane
in
Memories,
where
we
can
see
him
being
innovative
as
well
as
brilliant.
Star
Cast
Along
with
Prithviraj
and
Meghna
Raj,
other
cast
of
the
film
includes
Mia,
Nedumudi
Venu,
Vijayaraghavan,
Madhupal,
Suresh
Krishna,
Sreejith
Ravi,
Rahul
Madhav
and
Aneesh
G
Menon.
Performance
Prithviraj's
performance
is
outstanding.
His
selection
has
been
simply
outstanding
in
his
last
three
films.
Sam
is
surely
going
to
be
marked
as
one
of
his
best
character.
He
has
delivered
it
flawlessly.
All
other
cast
have
done
justice
to
their
roles.
Music
'Thirayum
Theeravum...'
is
a
fine
melody
sung
by
Vijay
Yesudas,
which
has
been
shot
in
Kodaikanal,
highlighting
the
flashback
scenes
of
Sam
and
his
family.
'Memories...',
an
English
song
played
during
the
opening,
is
also
good.
Positives
Overall,
the
movie
is
an
outstanding
one.
All
credits
to
the
director
and
his
crew
for
a
brilliantly
executed
movie.
All
the
technical
aspects
of
the
movie
have
also
added
to
the
success
of
the
movie.
Negatives
Being
a
hero
oriented
film,
the
female
lead
does
not
get
the
chance
to
show
her
prowess.
Verdict
Memories
is
undoubtedly
an
above
average
and
entertaining
movie.
An
outstanding
suspense-thriller
drama
and
a
complete
family
entertainer.
Don't
miss
this
wonderful
treat
of
Jeethu
Joseph
and
his
crew.
