Nadodi
Mannan,
directed
by
Viji
Thamby
and
starring
Dileep
as
the
male
lead
has
long
been
awaited.
Since
the
film
was
being
promoted
as
Dileep's
romantic
comedy,
it
might
just
end
up
as
a
disaster!
To
give
it
its
due
credit,
Nadodi
Mannan
starts
off
well
with
the
entry
of
the
hero
(Dileep)
and
the
humourous
proceedings.
However,
the
narrative
gets
very
slow
in
the
second
half
and
the
script
falters.
Songs
are
not
hummable
either.
In
fact,
few
of
the
songs
seems
forced
in.
You
initially
begin
to
feel
that
this
is
another
Blockbuster
for
Dileep;
but
as
the
story
progresses,
you
can't
help,
but
change
your
opinion!
Story
Dileep
(Padmanabhan)
plays
a
village
youth
who
supplies
men
to
political
parties
for
processions
irrespective
of
parties.
Something
happens
in
his
life
one
day
and
he
picks
up
his
values
and
decides
to
clean
up
the
mess
around!
In
the
process,
Padmanabhan
meets
a
business
tycoon
with
hidden
agendas,
gets
beaten
by
the
cops
and
ultimately
ends
up
as
a
mayor
of
the
city.
The
rest
of
the
story
revolves
around
how
Padmanabhan
cleans
up
the
city.
Ananya
plays
the
character
of
Meera,
who
comes
from
a
humble
background
and
is
head
over
heels
in
love
with
the
hero
(Dileep).
Archana
Kavi
plays
Aathira,
a
member
of
a
former
royal
family,
Mythili
stars
as
Rima,
a
broadcast
journalist.
Sayaji
Shinde,
who
makes
his
debut
in
Malayalam
films
plays
the
villain.
Performance
Dileep
is
as
usual
brilliant.
His
comic
timing
and
expressions,
specially
in
the
first
half
is
commendable.
Ananya,
Archana
Kavi
and
Mythili
have
given
an
average
performance
and
have
nothing
noteworthy
to
offer.
Script
Script
by
Krishna
Poojapura
follows
the
same
stereotype.
A
lack
of
good
script
and
plot
is
the
biggest
drawback
of
Nadodi
Mannan.
Verdict
Watch
Nadodi
Mannan
only
if
you
love
Dileep!
Otherwise,
it's
just
an
average
fare.
