Iyobinte Pusthakam, the highly anticipated movie directed by Amal Neerad has released today. The movie is getting mixed responses from the audience. Reportedly, Iyobinte Pusthakam is a period-drama set in the backdrop of Munnar in the pre-independence era. The exceptions are high on the movie; since it is the first association of talented young actor Fahadh Faasil with Amal Neerad, who proved his mettle as a director; as well as cinematographer.
Iyobinte Pusthakam is the story of Iyob and his three sons, Aloshy, Ivan and Dimitri. Lal plays Iyob and Fahadh Faasil, Jinu Joseph and Chemban Vinod Jose plays Aloshy, Ivan and Dimitri respectively. Jayasurya plays Angoor Ravuther, a Tamil Muslim businessman. Isha Sherwani and Padmapriya will essay the female leads. Isha plays Martha, the love interest of Aloshy and Padmapriya plays Rahel. The movie is jointly produced by Fahadh Faasil and Amal Neerad, under the banners Fahadh Faasil & Friends and Amal Neerad Productions.
According to the latest reports, Iyobinte Pusthakam is getting mixed reviews from the audience. The movie is surely a visual treat for the audience, with the stunning photography and mind-blowing music score. But the audience points out that the slow pace and not-so-thrilling plot makes the movie lag from the beginning itself. Most of the viewers are satisfied with the technical excellence of the movie; but complains about the slow pace.
Doubtlessly, all the actors has performed their roles realy well. Reports suggests that it is Jayasurya who stands out of the whole cast, for his impeccable screen presence. The biggest surprise of the movie is the item dance by Amala Paul. The audience and media were totally clueless about Amala's addition into the star cast; as the makers were particular about keeping it under the wraps.
