Koothara,
directed
by
Srinath
Rajendran
released
today,
is
an
entertaining
flick
with
some
lively
moments
for
the
youth.
With
a
good
star
cast
in
the
lead
and
Mohanlal
in
a
cameo
role,
the
movie
is
sure
to
win
the
hearts
of
youth.
As
we
all
know,
the
trailer
of
the
film
had
shown
how
the
movie
got
its
title.
It
is
a
combination
of
the
first
letters
of
the
male
leads
in
the
film
namely
Koobrin,
Tharun
and
Ram.
These
three
meet
during
their
college
days
and
become
good
friends.
The
movie
shows
how
they
enjoy
their
campus
life,
which
is
short-lived.
Things
begin
to
change
in
the
story
after
these
three
meet
a
mysterious
character
Usthad
Sali.
What
happens
next
forms
the
rest
of
the
story.
Performances
Sunny
Wayne,
Bharath
and
Tovino
Thomas
have
rendered
a
decent
performance
throughout
the
film.
Mohanlal,
although
gave
a
cameo
performance,
had
a
convincing
role
to
essay.
It
was
quite
disappointing
that
the
movie
did
not
have
any
importance
for
the
female
leads
in
the
film.
Bhavana,
Gauthami
nair,
Janani
Iyer
and
Shritha
Sivadas
played
the
female
leads
in
the
film.
The
rest
of
the
cast
including
Baburaj,
Sunil
Sukhada
and
many
others
did
their
part
well.
Technical
Aspects
Cinematography
was
at
its
best.
Music
composed
by
Gopi
Sunder
did
not
reach
the
expectation.
BGM
was
just
an
ok.
Movie
could
have
been
much
more
better
with
its
music,
which
would
have
helped
the
movie
to
reach
the
next
level.
Verdict
In
short,
Koothara
is
a
one
time
watchable
flick.
There
are
lot
to
see
and
laugh
during
the
first
half
but,
the
movie
disappoints
during
the
second
half.
The
movie
is
an
entertainer
for
sure
but,
only
at
parts.
Its
not
a
film
to
watch
with
high
expectations.
