Chirakodinja Kinavukal Movie Review: Take The Risk If You Like To Experiment

Chirakodinja Kinavukal is the spoof movie directed by debutante Santhosh Viswanath, with Sreenivasan, Kunchacko Boban and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles. The movie is penned by Praveen S and produced by Listin Stephen, under the banner Magic Frames.

Chirakodinja Kinavukal Plot

Ambujakshan (Sreenivasan), a tailor cum novelist, plans to make a film based on his novel Chirakodinja Kinavukal. The novel revolves around the love story of a tailor (Kunchacko Boban) and Sumathi (Rima Kallingal), the daughter of a log breaker. But, the log breaker decides to marry off Nalini to an NRI (also played by Kunchacko Boban). This forms the crux of the story.

Chirakodinja Kinavukal Cast

Sreenivasan plays tailor Ambujakshan to near perfection, but doubtlessly fails to bring out the old charm of the character. Kunchacko Boban's portrayal of the tailor is fine, but the actor fails to impress as the NRI. Rima Kallingal fits in to the role of Sumathy, but has nothing much to do in the film.

Joy Mathew, who plays Sumathi's father, Manoj K Jayan, Mamukoya, Lalu Alex, Jacob Gregory, Srinda Ashab, Kalaranjini etc are good at their respective roles.

Chirakodinja Kinavukal Script And Direction

The major defect of the movie is the wafer thin story line, which has nothing new to convey. Scenarist Praveen S and debutante director Santhosh Viswanath partially succeeds in making a spoof movie, which is a new experiment in Mollywood.

Technical Aspects

S Vaidy's cinematography is perfect. But Mahesh Narayanan's editing is just average; as the movie looks hollow at parts.

Deepak Dev meets the expectations with beautiful songs and excellent background score.

Verdict

Take the risk only if you love to watch experimental movies.
