Kumbasaram is an emotional family thriller which stars Jayasurya in the lead role. The movie, directed by Aneesh Anwar, stars Honey Rose in the female lead. Kumbasaram is produced by Niyas Ismail under the banner Frames Inevitable.

Kumbasaram Plot

The movie begins with the confessions of Alby (Jayasurya), an autorickshaw driver. He was leading a happy life with his wife Meera (Honey Rose) and their only son Jerry (Akash). Alby and Meera are extremely attached with Jerry and dream about his great future. But despite the expectations, Jerry falls critically ill; thus turning Alby and Meera's life upside down. This forms the crux of the story.

Cast And Performance

Jayasurya steals the show with his extraordinary acting skills. The actor truly deserves a special applause for his exceptional performance.

The character Meera is a great turning point in Honey Rose's career. The actress completely sheds her bold image and excels in the role of a loving wife and mother.

Akash, who essays Jerry, mesmerizes with his balanced performance. The rest of the cast, including Vineeth, Priyanka, Tini Tom, Shanavas, Master Gourav Menon etc are perfect in their respective roles.

Script And Performance

Aneesh Anwar himself pens the script for the movie. The director-writer has managed well to depict the elements of an emotional thriller with much perfection.

Some major defects of the movie are the excessive duration and slow pace in the second half. Despite such small defects, the movie still maintains to stand out with the exceptional theme and perfect narrative style.

Technical Aspects

Cinematography handled by Alby is can't get more perfect, as it creates a best ambiance for an emotional thriller. Editing by Renjith is not up to the mark, as the movie falls into the low pace at certain portions.

Songs And Background Score

Songs and background score are composed by Vishnu Mohan Sithara, the son of popular musician Mohan Sithara. The newbie manages to impress with decent songs and the haunting background score and assures that he will carry forward out his father's legacy.

Verdict

A perfect emotional thriller which impresses with a brilliant story, narrative and amazing performances by the actors.
