comical
thriller
written

directed
by

Antony,
with
Vineeth
Sreenivasan
in
the
lead
role.
The
movie
is
produced
by

under
the
banners

Oru
Second
Class
Yathra
Plot
The
movie
revolves
around
Nandu
(Vineeth
Sreenivasan)
and
Maaran
(Chemban
Vinod
Jose),
the
two
criminals
who
travelfrom
Kannur
to
Trivandrum,
in
the
second
class
compartment
of
Parashuram
Express.
They
are
accompanied
by
two
police
constables,
Jolly
Kurian
(Joju
George)
and
Balagopal
(Sreejith
Ravi).
Nandu
is
a
calm
and
quiet
young
man
who
hails
from
a
village
of
North
Kerala.
His
family
consists
of
his
parents
(Nedumudi
Venu
and
Vanitha
Krishnachandran)
and
an
elder
sister
(Nikki
Galrani).
Maaran,
who
hails
from
a
Tamil
colony
of
Kochi
is
highly
restless.
Jolly
and
Balagopal,
the
policemen,
are
not
in
a
good
terms
since
their
training
days.
Jolly
is
a
wicked
hearted
man
while
Balagopal
is
a
complete
gentleman.
The
journey
of
the
foursome
and
the
incidents
faced
by
them
forms
the
crux
of
the
story.
Oru
Second
Class
Yathra
Cast
Vineeth
Sreenivasan,
who
plays
Nandu,
completely
disappoints
with
his
weak
and
tedious
performance.
The
actor-filmmaker
doubtlessly
needs
to
work
on
his
acting
skills.
Chemban
Vinod
Jose,
who
essays
Maaran,
steals
the
show
with
his
amazing
screen
presence.
Nikki
Galrani,
Nedumudi
Venu,
Indrans,
Maniapilla
Raju,
Sasi
Kalinga,
Sunil
Sukhadha,
Saju
Navodaya,
Dr.
Shaju,
Arun
Gosh,
Vanitha
Krishnachandran
and
Vijayakumari,
who
appears
in
the
supporting
roles,
are
fine
in
their
respective
roles.

Script
And
Direction
The
movie
is
written
and
directed
by
the
debutante
duo
Jexson
Antony-Rejis
Antony,
fails
to
bring
out
the
best
from
the
wonderful
star
cast.
The
movie
has
nothing
new
to
offer
and
disappoints
with
the
cliched
storyline.
The
loosely
bounded
script
is
the
major
weak
point
of
the
movie.
The
movie
has
an
incompleteness
from
the
beginning
till
climax,
which
badly
affects
the
entertaining
factor.
Technical
Aspects
Vinod
Illampally's
cinematography
helps
in
maintaining
the
simple
yet
appealing
effect
in
the
visuals.
Lijo
Paul's
editing
hasn't
reached
up
to
the
marks,
as
the
movie
lacks
a
speed
and
crispness
of
a
thriller
and
develops
in
a
slow
pace,
more
like
a
melodrama.

Songs
And
Background
Score
National
Award
winner
Gopi
Sundar
composes
the
songs
and
background
score
for
the
movie.
The
song
Ambazham
Thanalitta,
sung
by
Vineeth
Sreenivasan,
has
already
entered
the
hit
charts.
Background
scoring
hasn't
reached
the
usual
standards
of
Gopi's
tunes,
but
is
not
bad
either.
Verdict
A
movie
which
badly
fails
to
impress
with
the
charmless
performances
of
the
leading
actors
and
badly
executed
screenplay.
