Oru Vadakkan Selfie Movie Review: Laugh Your Heart Out

Oru Vadakkan Selfie is the comedy entertainer directed by G Prajith. The movie, which stars Nivin Pauly in the central role, is penned by actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan. Popular child artist Manjima Mohan will make her debut in lead roles with the movie. Oru Vadakkan Selfie is produced by Vinod Shornur under the banner Cast N Crew.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie Plot

Umesh (Nivin Pauly) is a carefree guy, who fails in his engineering exams with 42 arrears. He decides to be a filmmaker; out of his urge to earn money and fame. His dream is to assist popular director Gautham Menon and make a movie with Thala Ajith.

Along with his best buddies (Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav) decides to copy some Korean movie themes and make a movie. In the mean while, he meets Daisy (Manjima Mohan) and falls in love with her. Umesh's struggles to be a filmmaker lands him into some hilarious situations and this forms the crux of the story.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie Cast And Performance

Nivin Pauly, who plays the central character Umesh, steals the show with his exuberant performance. Vineeth Sreenivasan, who essays Jack has improved a lot while compared to his last movie and looks comfortable in his own platform.

Manjima Mohan makes a fantastic debut and steals the show with her matured performance. Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav perfectly plays their respective roles. Rest of the cast, including Vijayaraghavan, Sreelakshmi, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Shrava, Harikrishnan etc are perfect in their roles.

Oru Vadakkan Selfie Script And Direction

The script penned by Vineeth Sreenivasan perfectly blends the comical elements with the impressive theme. The first half is rich with extraordinary comical situations; while the second half depicts some thrilling situations.

G Prajith makes a fantastic directorial debut with the movie and assures that he is here to stay.

Jomon T John's cinematography is simply classic. Ranjan Abraham's edits and cuts are perfect.

When all the other songs of the movie are just average, Shaan Rahman scores for Kaikottum Kandittilla, sung by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. The background score perfectly matches the mood of the movie.
