Story
Biju

leads
the

He

He

But

ends
up
as
a
police

and
the
nature
of
his
job

a
drastic
change
in
his
life
and
personality.
What

Script
&
Direction
The
script
is
jointly
penned
by
Muhammed
Shafeeq
and
Abrid
Shine,
who
also
directs
the
movie.
It
is
the
second
venture
of
Abrid,
who
made
his
directorial
debut
with
1983.
Technical

Verdict
A
very
realistic,
subtle,
fun-filled
police
story,
which
reinvents
the
whole
concept
of
cop
roles.
Cast
&
Performances
Nivin
Pauly,
who
plays
SI
Biju
Paulose,
literally
carries
the
movie
in
his
shoulder.
He
perfectly
plays
the
normal
youngster
who
dons
khakee
and
successfully
connects
with
the
audience
throughout
the
movie.
Suraj
Venjaramoodu,
who
makes
a
cameo
appearance
in
the
movie,
deserves
a
special
applause
for
his
brief
yet
outstanding
performance.
It
is
one
of
the
best
performances
by
the
actor
till
date.
Anu
Emmanuel
plays
a
minimal
role
as
Benita
and
shares
a
good
chemistry
with
Nivin.
The
supporting
cast,
including
Saiju
Kurup,
Major
Ravi,
Kochu
Preman,
Joju
George,
Prajod
Kalabhavan,
Valsala
Menon
etc
perfectly
play
their
parts.
Script
And
Direction
Action
Hero
Biju
is
completely
a
director's
film.
Abrid
Shine
excellent
craft
is
visible
in
each
frame
of
the
movie.
The
script,
jointly
written
by
Abrid
and
Muhammed
Shafeeq,
perfectly
combines
the
commoner
and
heroic
aspects
of
Biju.
But,
the
second
half
might
fail
to
impress
the
audiences,
as
the
sudden
changes
in
SI
Biju's
characterization,
from
an
ordinary
police
officer
to
a
real
action
hero
looks
quite
artificial
and
out
of
place.
For
the
audiences
who
expect
another
1983
or
Premam,
Action
Hero
Biju
will
be
a
total
disappointment.
It
is
a
very
simple
movie
which
deals
with
a
wafer-thin
story
line,
but
narrates
it
in
the
most
sensible
way
possible.
Technical
Aspects
Cinematographer
Alex
J
Pulickal's
colourful
yet
highly
natural
visualization
has
highly
supported
the
extremely
natural
narrative
of
the
movie.
Manoj's
editing
is
just
okay.
The
movie
is
shot
using
sink
sound
technology.
Sound
designer
Rajakrishnan
and
the
audio
department
deserves
a
special
mention
for
doing
their
part
to
near
perfection.
Songs
And
Background
Score
Jerry
Amaldev's
songs
are
truly
magical.
But
they
may
disappoint
a
large
group
of
audiences,
who
expects
more
youthful
tunes.
Rajesh
Murgesan
once
again
amazes
with
his
outstanding
background
score.
Verdict
A
very
realistic,
subtle,
fun-filled
police
story,
which
reinvents
the
whole
concept
of
khakee.
