      Kavi Uddheshichathu..?, which has Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Narain in the lead roles has hit the theatres today (October 8, 2016). The film has been directed by Thomas Liju Thomas.

      Asif Ali and Sajin Jaffer have produced the movie under the banner of Adam's World Of Imaginations. The film has actress Anju Kurien as the leading lady. Lena would also be seen playing an importnt role in the film. Kavi Uddheshichathu..? has its scriot jointly written by Thomas and Martin Duro.

      Synopsis

      The story of Kavi Uddeshichathu..? is set in a place called Allimoola, which is known for crazy Volleyball fans present over there. Kavalam Jimmy and Vattathil Bosco are always at loggerheads. Both of them form Vollyball teams for a bet that they have placed. Then enters Minnal Simon, who is out there to help Jimmy in the role of a volleyball coach. What happens next has been narrated in an interesting way in Kavi Uddheshichathu..?

      The role of Jimmy is a tailor-made one for the actor and he suits the character perfectly. Asif Ali has given a controlled and matured performance as Kavalam Jimmy in the film.

      Biju Menon appears only in the second half of the film, but the actor has made a point to steal the show from then on. He, once again impresses with his one-liners and impeccable comic timing.

      Narain As Bosco

      It is a confident comeback by Narain. He has adapted well to portray Bosco Vattathil. There is a flexibility in his acting style that has suited the role perfectly. His comic timing has also improved a lot.

      Anju Kurien As Jasmine

      Anju Kurien looked extremely beautiful as Jasmine, the lady love of Jimmy. On the performance side, she has done a decent job bringing the required charm to the character.

      Lena is one such actress who fits in to any kinds of roles. Here also, the actress fits in to the role of Gladys, a lady who is a businessmwoman. She has delivered what is required for the character.

      Saiju Kurup As Noble Jacob

      Another notable performance in the film is from Saiju Kurup. He might be seen only in few scenes, but has added the intensity to the character, which has a bit of negative shades.

      The pair did show initial signs of hiccups, in the first half, but they came back strongly. The second half of the film has been excellently packaged by the team and it's a confident debut for them.

      Script by Thomas and Martin Duro

      Script jointly written by Thomas And Martin Duro has some ineteresting elements. the story is nothing new but the premises are. the writers have made it a point to give due importance to each of the characters.

      Other Technical Aspects

      Cinematography by Shenad Jalal is good. Songs set to tune by Vinu Thomas and Jakes bejoy are pretty ordinary. Editor Sunil S Pillai has done a good job in the second half, but could have done a better job for the first half of the film.

      Overall View

      Kavi Uddheshichathu is a decent entertainer that has its own moments. As mentioned above, the initial portions of the first half might give you a dull feel about the movie but later on, the film takes you for an entertaining ride.

      The second half of the film is the biggest plus of Kavi Uddheshichathu..? The volleyball tournament sequences have been well shot and woul give you all the thrills.

      Verdict

      Go for it. A well-made entertainer that would keep you engaged throughout.
