Read on to know how the cast and crew members of Georgettan's Pooram have fared for the movie..

Dileep As George Vadakkan

Dileep As George Vadakkan

Dileep appears as George Vadakkan. For the first time, the actor is trying his hands on Thrissu dialect and he pulls it off with ease. He has maintained the dialect throughout the movie, which is really commendable. The actor has excelled in the serious sequences, especially in the second half and it was refreshing to see the actor in a role, which doesn't resort to over the top comedies.

Vinay Forrt As Vava

Vinay Forrt As Vava

Vinay Forrt plays the role of Vava, one among the close friends of George. Well, the actor in him has convincingly portrayed the role, but a talent like him could have been used by the director in a much better way.

Sharafudheen As Pallan

Sharafudheen As Pallan

Well, we all know his ability to take people for a laughter ride. In Georgettan's Pooram, he has got the major share of one-liners and he evokes laughter here and there, but not on a consistent basis

Chemban Vinod Jose As Peter

Chemban Vinod Jose As Peter

Chemban Vinod Jose plays the role Peter, the character that is quite crucial in the progress of the movie. The actor, once again proves his brilliance in doing such kind of roles and his screen presence is amazing.

Rajisha Vijayan As Merlin

Rajisha Vijayan As Merlin

This is Rajisha's second film as a heroine. She has made a good transition from the loud and emotional Eli from her debut film to the soft-spoken and silent Merlin in this one. Merlin is the lady love of Georgettan and her character provides the motivational elements to the hero.

Renji Panicker As Mathews Vadakkan

Renji Panicker As Mathews Vadakkan

Renji Panikker appears as Mathew Vadakkan, the father of George Vadakkan. This time, he gets to play the role of a father who is critical about his son's activities and that remains the sole difference.

Rest Of The Cast

Rest Of The Cast

The film also features actor like Harish Perumanna, Sunil Sukhada, Sudheer Karamana, Malavika Nair, Ganapathy, Kalaranjini and a host of other actors. Most of them were wasted in poorly written roles.

But, T G Ravi, who plays the crucial role of Josephettan, steals the show with his amazing act. He gets to play a very well-written role and he portrays it with excellence.

Director - K Biju

Director - K Biju

K Biju has tried his best to package a decent product but the script does let him down up to some extent, especially in the first half. It seemed like the film-maker in him was a bit clueless in the initial portions of the movie.

But, the second half of the film proves that the film-maker has the ability to craft good entertainers. he has done his best to make the second half of the film appealing and engaging. especially, the Kabaddi sequences have been crafted really well by the director.

Script - Y V Rajesh

Script - Y V Rajesh

Well, it has to be said that the script of the film is a let down. In the first half, the movie moves forward without any proper direction, which has affected the overall flow of the movie. Many sequences looked out of context and misplaced. Y V Rajesh displays some brilliance in the second half of the movie where he has scored well with the dialogues, as well.

Music & BGM

Gopi Sunder's Music and BGM suit the movie pretty well. The song 'Joliyum Kooliyum Illa'.. is a real good one that and it gels well with the movie.

Other Technicalities

Georgettan's Pooram was shot mainly in thrissur and the cinematography of the film by Vinod Illampily suits pretty well to the genre. Lijo Paul, who handled the editing department could have used the knife in a better way to chop off certain scenes of the first half.

Overall View

Well, Georgettan's Pooram was expected to be a comedy entertainer. Having someone like Dileep on board, such an expectation is quite valid. But, there are only very few occasions where the film offers some laughter and that is where the film falters completely.

In fact, Georgettan's Pooram has a promising plot but it has been developed without much surprises and entertaining elements. The blame is on the first half, which is filled with loads of clichéd elements like childhood sequences of George, love angle of Merlin and George and cerain other unwanted sequences. Add to it the fizzled out jokes, the film nosedives in the first half. Even the actors are left helpless with sequences that offers nothing to entertain.

One is kept waiting for the film to enter the main storyline and once it enters, the film takes you for a decent entertaining ride. The second half has some fine moments, espexillay the emotional sequences that have worked out well. Even the Kabaddi sequences are engaging and nail-biting ones, taking the viewers for a good ride. And it is this second half of the movie, which saves the film from being a complete letdown.

Verdict

Georgettan's Pooram would have been a complete entertainer, had the makers taken due care of the first half of the movie. The film fails completely in the humour department and if you can sit through the boring first half, it might turn out to be a watchable one.
