Read on to know how the cast and crew members of Honey Bee 2 have fared for the movie..

Script & Direction – Jean Paul Lal

Script & Direction – Jean Paul Lal

Honey Bee 2 is the third directorial venture of Lal Jr. He made a promising debut with Honey Bee and he could make a very entertaining product out of a not so new plot in the prequel.

Coming to Honey Bee 2, he has lost the plot completely and it has to be said that it is a disappointing show from the writer-director.

The writer in him got to develop a story based on a limited timeline and he failed completely to cook up an engaging plot. And big thumbs down for the overuse of adult dialogues, which turns out to be irritating at some extent.

It has to be said that the film-maker in him has failed to package an entertainer altogether.

Asif Ali As Seban

Asif Ali As Seban

Asif Ali was at ease while portraying Seban in the prequel. Coming to the sequel, he got to do some emotional sequences, as well. It was an OK performance from the actor.

Bhavana As Angel

Bhavana As Angel

Bhavana's portrayal of Angel was effective. The experience in the artist in her did come to play in certain sequences and was convincing in most of the sequences.

Lal As Michael

Lal As Michael

In Honey Bee, we got to see the machismo in Lal's Michael. Here, the emotional side of Michael has also been exposed. Well, such roles are always safe in the hands of an actor like Lal and here also, he has hit the right spot.

Sreenivasan As Thampi Antony

Sreenivasan As Thampi Antony

Sreenivasan is a new addition to the Honey Bee family. He appeared as Thampi Antony, father of Seban. He was seen in an all new look but it has to be said that it didn't match him perfectly. Coming to the performance, he was decent in the portrayal of the father character.

Lena As Ruby

Lena As Ruby

Along with Sreenivasan, actress Lena is also making an entry to the Honey Bee gang with Honey Bee 2. The actress looked really stylish as Ruby, mother of Seban. She has done her part pretty well, but her character could have been developed in a better fashion.

Baburaj As Ferno

Baburaj As Ferno

Baburaj is back in action after a brief break. He was spot on with his portrayal of Ferno, once again, but he has got only very limited opportunity to showcase his talent in the movie.

Balu Varghese As Ambro

Balu Varghese As Ambro

Balu Varghese, did impress one and all with his portrayal of Ambrose, the youngest member of the gang. Here also, he has done justice to his role and provides occasional laughs with some one-liners here and there.

Sreenath Bhasi As Abu

Sreenath Bhasi As Abu

Sreenath Bhasi has delivered what was expected from him. But once again, the poor writing has spoiled his character's progress in the movie.

Rest Of The Cast

Rest Of The Cast

Apart from the above mentioned actors, Honey Bee 2 also features Suresh Krishna, Premkumar, Amith Chakkalakkal, Ganapathy, Harisree Asokan, Kavitha Nair, Arun, Krishnaprabha, Mahesh etc., in important roles. Many of the actors have been hugely wasted in poorly written roles.

Other Technicalities

DOP of the film is by Alby and he has done a decent job in setting some colourful frames. Editing has been handled by Ratheesh Raj and it was strictly average.

Music and background score of the movie has been taken care of by Deepak Dev. Even the songs of the movie, didn't have that Deepak Dev magic, usually associated with his songs. Jillam Jillam.. was a foot-tapping number, but still, it was a normal one in the lines of usual celebration songs.

Overall View

Honey Bee 2 can rightly be termed as a missed opportunity. The film, did have a decent start with some comedies here and there, but one would get an idea about how the movie would turn out to be after the first half of the movie.

Coming to the second half, the film completely looses the plot and slumps into boredom. The overuse of melodrama and sentiments in the second half has adversely affected the flow of the movie.

Disappointingly, the friendship factor has taken backseat in Honey Bee 2, which is not a good news for the fans of the prequel. The makers did try to bring in the family elements, which has backfired a lot.

At the same time, it was extremely disappointing to see the makers of the movie depending excessively on adult dialogues to evoke laughter. There are only very few genuine laughs in the movie, most of which come in the first half.

Verdict

Honey Bee 2 doesn't have even half the dosage of entertaining elements that its prequel had. Expectations were sky high on this sequel, but disappointigly, the film falls flat with only some good performances coming in as a relief.
