Fantasy
is
one
such
genre
that
allows
makers
and
writers
to
come
up
with
the
best
of
their
creative
inputs,
yet
we
haven't
seen
many
Malayalam
movies
belonging
to
this
genre.
Iblis
comes
in
as
an
exception
though.
The
posters
and
trailer
of
the
film
had
promised
a
film,
which
would
explore
this
genre
to
the
fullest.
Has
Iblish
lived
up
to
the
expectation
and
provided
something
new
to
the
audiences?

the
answers.
Iblis
has
its
premises
set
in
an
imaginary
land
which
has
been
ruled
by
superstitions.
Vysakhan,
a
youngster
who
belongs
to
this
place,
is
in
love
with
a
girl
named
Fida.
Meanwhile,
the
place
is
considered
to
be
a
land
of
curse
and
has
a
whole
lot
of
mystery.
Iblis
takes
us
to
this
land
and
the
lives
of
Vysakhan,
Fida
and
others.
Be
it
realistic
or
fantasy,
a
story
should
capture
the
attention
of
all
and
the
plot
of
Iblis
adheres
to
that
pivotal
point.
Rohith
VS
has
penned
the
out-of-the-box
concept
and
has
placed
it
in
a
fabulous
storyline.
Writer
Sameer
takes
forward
this
story
with
amazing
characterization
and
excellent
sequences
that
are
the
by-products
of
creative
brains.
The
characterizations
are
quirky
and
interesting.
Each
and
every
character
is
quite
different
from
one
another.
In
fact,
the
writer
has
infused
magical
realism
to
the
script
as
well.
The
film
does
have
some
light-hearted
comedies,
but
nothing
has
been
forced
in,
and
they
are
just
a
part
of
the
narrative
and
presentation.
In
his
debut
directorial
venture,
Rohith
VS
had
taken
a
path
that
has
not
been
treaded
much
on
and
he
continues
the
same
with
Iblis.
It
is
never
easy
to
conceptualize
a
fantasy
movie
and
that
too
in
a
believable
manner.
Rohith
VS
comes
out
successful
in
setting
up
that
perfectly.
The
film-maker
in
him
doesn't
compromise
for
the
cliched
commercial
factors
and
that
shows
the
amount
of
confidence
that
he
has.
As
a
result,
he
takes
us
to
this
fantasy
world
with
ease,
and
due
credits
to
his
convincing
making
style.
The
film
goes
back-and-forth
and
the
grip
over
the
narrative
pattern
is
firm
and
solid.
At
the
same
time,
the
pacing
of
the
film
might
be
an
issue
for
some.
Asif
Ali
continues
to
impress
with
his
experimentation
and
he
has
completely
transformed
as
the
character
Vysakhan.
Iblis
is
yet
another
film
that
showcases
the
brilliant
actor
in
Asif
Ali.
It
was
refreshing
to
see
Madonna
Sebastian
back
in
Mollywood
and
she
was
the
perfect
choice
for
the
character
Fida.
Lal
steals
the
show
as
Vysakhan's
grandpa
and
he
has
to
offer
some
of
the
most
amazing
sequences
of
the
film.
Siddique
too
has
chipped
in
with
a
remarkable
performance.
The
entire
technical
department
of
the
movie
deserves
a
big
applause.
Songs
are
a
part
of
the
narrative
and
they
meet
the
requirement
of
the
film.
BGM
of
the
film
is
impressive.
Cinematography
is
splendid
and
add
the
necessary
flavour
to
the
movie.
The
costumes
and
art
departments
of
the
film
deserve
a
big
round
of
applause,
as
their
involvement
in
setting
up
this
fantasy
trip
is
indelible.
With
its
quirkiness
and
captivating
story-telling,
Iblis
offers
a
never-seen-before
kind
of
an
experience
to
the
audiences.
Rohith
VS
and
team
deserve
a
big
applause
to
staying
true
to
the
genre
with
utmost
sincerity.
