Who Is Sheetal Thamby? Why Did She Send A Legal Notice To Manju Warrier Over The Shoot Of 'Footage'?

Legal Notice Filed Against Manju Warrier Over Safety Concerns on 'Footage' Set: Actress Manju Warrier has recently come under legal scrutiny following a notice issued by actress Sheetal Thamby. The notice accuses Manju Warrier, who is also a producer of the film Footage, of failing to provide necessary safety measures on set, which allegedly led to Sheetal Thamby sustaining injuries. The legal complaint claims that Sheetal Thamby did not receive adequate medical treatment for her injuries and is seeking ₹5 crore in compensation.
Sheetal Thamby, an actress and assistant director, has directed her legal complaint against Manju Warrier and Bineesh Chandran, a partner in the production company Movie Bucket. Footage was shot in the Chimmony Forest area, where Sheetal was injured during a fight scene. According to the legal notice, the injury resulted from insufficient safety measures and the need for multiple takes.
The notice details that Sheetal required surgery and incurred significant medical expenses. However, Movie Bucket allegedly only covered ₹1.85 lakh of these costs at various stages, leaving Sheetal financially burdened and unable to continue working. The notice asserts that Movie Bucket has been unresponsive to the demands for appropriate compensation, prompting Sheetal to seek legal redress.
According to an Asianet News report, Sheetal Thamby's lawyer, Ranjith Marar, highlighted the lack of primary medical facilities on set during the stunt filming. Marar noted that while stunt scenes are generally performed by stunt doubles, Sheetal chose to perform the stunt herself, leading to her injury. He criticized the production team for not providing assistance despite direct requests and pointed out that Sheetal had cooperated fully with the promotional activities for the film. The lawyer added that the promised compensation had not been fulfilled.
Sheetal, who entered the film industry as an assistant director and actress through the movie 'Nayattu,' had previously stated that 'Footage' is the most important film of her career.
