Struggle for Success: Marathi Films lose out at the Box Office!
The once flourishing Marathi Film Industry, which boasted of hit films like Katyar Kaljat Ghusli, Killa, Court and Dagadi Chawl among others with its original storyline, screenplay, direction and Box Office Hit, is now gasping for breath.
Once
heralded
as
cinematically
wealthy
'Marathi
Industry'
is
now
losing
at
the
Box
Office.
While
business
profit
made
by
cinema
on
box
office,
such
criteria
is
been
always
testing
Marathi
movies,
recent
released
films
like
Urfi,
Dhangarwada,
Mahanayak
Vasant
Tu,
Shalee,
Lathi,
Partu,
Bai
Go
Bai,
Shinma
and
Carry
On
Deshpande
worked
terribly
at
the
Box
Office.
The
deteriorating
conditions
can
largely
be
attributed
to
the
lack
of
Theatre
Distribution,
Poor
Marketing
and
Promotional
Activities
involved
for
the
films
promotion.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
these
films
did
not
even
manage
to
create
a
buzz
or
even
grab
the
attention
amongst
the
audiences.
While, there are so many who are a part of film industry and yet they lack education and skills needed for it, be it stage shows, television shows, theatre or films. We believe the marketing team do not have proper knowledge about marketing, satellite rights, digital rights and TV premiere. Is this why Marathi movies lack behind? This is a question that needs some serious thinking!
And so, not surprisingly, Marathi films, even if they are acclaimed, lose out at the Box Office!
