Mumbai (UNI): Noted music director A R Rehman's soulful rendition of 'Jana Gana Mana' was today released at Fame multiplexes across the country by Shringar Cinemas Ltd, in collaboration with Bharatbala Productions. The film will be showcased to patrons prior to all movie screenings at Fame Multiplexes to add an emotive flavour to the National Anthem. The first screening of the film was held at Fame Adlabs in Andheri, in the presence of Pandit Jasraj, Kavita Krishnamurthy and A R Rehman. The singers said that, with 'Jana Gana Mana', Bharatbala Productions has contributed to the country's emotional unity by bringing together all the music maestros of India from the classical to the contemporary for the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, originally composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
The National anthem that has been recreated by A R Rehman has been led by Lata Mangeshkar, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, D K Pattamal, Asha Bhosale, Dr Balamuralikrishna, Bhupen Hazarika, Jagjit Singh, Dr S P Balasubramaniam, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sadiq Khan Langa.
''When I sang the song the first thing that came to my mind was that I am not a Bengali or a South Indian, but foremost, I am an Indian,'' Ms Krishnamurthy said. Mr Shravan Shroff, Managing Director, Shringar Cinemas said, ''We believe that the powerful rendition of the anthem created by A R Rehman and Bharatbala Productions will appeal to the young and old alike instilling a fresh sense of pride.''
