    Violinist G Jayaraman falicitated

    Bangalore (UNI): Renowned Violinist Lalgudi G Jayaraman has been chosen for the prestigious S V Narayanaswamy Rao national award for 2006 for his significant contribution to Indian classical music, here on Saturday.

    In a release here yesterday, Sree Rama Mandali Trust Managing Trustee S N Ramaprasad said the award, constituted six years ago in memory of S V Narayanaswamy Rao, a religious person from Bangalore, would be presented to Mr Jayaraman at a special function on May 12, coinciding with the Ramanavami celebrations here. He said the award carried a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a certificate and a memento.
