Shankar Mahadevan in RJ's role

Eminent music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan will assume the role of a Radio Jockey this week for Radio City's exclusive show Musical-E-Azam.

Musical-E-Azam is a month long mega musical festival, which airs celebrity chats every week, with a celebrity RJ to host the show. Besides taking song requests and chatting with fans that call into Radio City, what sets this program aside is the fact that some of the requests will be sung live by the singers in the studio. The entire day will be dedicated to the star music personality, playing his/her best songs, and engaging listeners with trivia and anecdotes from their personal lives.

The first week saw award-winning singer Sunidhi Chauhan playing RJ. This week, the torch has been passed on to Shankar Mahadevan. This week, he will be in session with five music sensations - tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, Ghulam Ali, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, and Shankar's associates Ehsaan&Loy.

RJ Shankar will chat with Zakir Hussain about his invaluable experiences, with Ghulam Ali about Ghazals&Shayariis. Radio City's very own Sonu Niigaam will talk about singing v/s RJ-ing, Shaan will throw light on the role of music in his life. An exciting session will be that of the talented trio - Shankar, Ehsaan&Loy, who will come together for the last episode of the week.

Shankar has left the audiences "Breathless" with his exceptional music compositions. It is only a matter of time before we tune in to his RJ-ing skills.
