Rank Last week Film Plusses Minuses
1 KANK 'Where's The Party Tonight' has now arrived and though there have been mixed reactions to the music video, the sales continue to consolidate the album's position at the top of the charts It's a game of wait and watch. Music industry strongly believes that if the film turns out to be a blockbuster [as is expected], the sales would read much higher than they actually are! But in case the movie fails to deliver, the music may just come crashing down
2 Fanaa How long would it continue its stay at the top of the charts? One can't help asking this question at the music stores as 'Fanaa' continues to sell inspite of buzz around the film coming to a standstill Below average publicity
3 Gangster True blockbuster of the year, it is one of those rare albums that has enjoyed appreciation from both critics and masses. Super-hit and a strong contender to sweep the awards for the year! None
6 PKSE Pritam now has 2 albums in Top-4, not at all a mean achievement! A dark horse, PKSE stormed into the charts and since then has been consolidating its place. Now it has moved a couple of spots up and is all already a hot DJ favorite in the clubs and pubs Mainly targeted at young crowds
5 Omkara Vishal Bhardwaj has a sweet taste of success even before his film releases. As a composer he has all the reasons to be proud of 'Omkara' soundtrack and now his directorial venture is being looked forward to with keen interest! Till the time 'beedi' is lit, the album would continue to register good sales. After that it would be limited to classy crowds and critics!
4 Krrish The film may be topping the charts since its release 4 weeks back but the music has now started dropping down the charts. Still it has worked well with the young crowds, especially with children due to the simplicity of Rajesh Roshan melodies Lukewarm choreography
7 Ahista Ahista Pick up...pick up! This is what one has to say for 'Ahista Ahista' that is just not registering the kind of sales it actually deserves. Sheer variety in the soundtrack definitely deserves a mention None. It is the best that Reshammiya fans could have wanted. Also it is a far better choice of a film soundtrack when compared to others available on the stands
8 One and Only Himesh Super-hit songs from Reshammiya films like ABA, Aksar, Aap Ka Surroor, Ahista Ahista, HDKG, PHP, TDH and CCK! Do we need to say more? None
9 Golmaal The film has done a decent business in its first week and the album too has followed a similar trend. Its sales would be monitored quite closely for next 2 weeks because this is the period when the film's make or break status would be reflected in the album's sales too Not enough gap between the release of film's music and movie. Also, for the lovers of romantic melodies, there is not much to cheer in this Vishal Shekhar album that is made of predominantly peppy tunes
10 The Killer Two very good songs in this Sajid-Wajid score - 'Teri Yaadon Mein' and 'O Sanam'! Raunchy 'Abhi To Main Jawaan Hoon' seems to have worked too with the interiors crowds visiting single screen theatres Will the release of the film help the sales? It may but then it seems to be too late since 'The Killer' is hanging at No. 10 and there are many more new albums knocking the doors. A miracle may help the album sustain its sales!
