Udit Narayan seeks to dissolve issue

Patna (UNI): Noted playback singer Udit Narayan and his estranged wife Ranjana Jha today filed a joint petition before state women's commission seeking time for out of court settlement and resolution of the dispute over plea of the latter to restore their conjugal life. Chairperson of the state women's commission Manju Prakash said that through a joint petition, both Mr Narain and Ms Jha, informed the commission that they were engaged in negotiation to find a mutually acceptable solution to their strained married life. They were granted two days' time to carry on dialogue and approach the commission to inform the outcome of such exercise, she said adding the commission might consider extending the period of negotiation till July five if satisfactory progress was made during the first 48 hours of negotiations.

that
the
aim
of
the
women's
commssion
was
to
restore
rights
of
Ms
Jha
as
legal
wife
to
the
singer.
Earlier
women's
commission
had
issued
summons
to
the
singer
on
four
occasions
during
the
last
three
months
to
appear
before
it
to
state
his
position
following
the
complaint
of
Ms
Jha
accusing
him
of
practising
bigamy
and
ignoring
her
interests
as
his
legal
wife.
Mr
Narain
had
failed
to
appear
before
the
commission
on
one
pretext
or
the
other
but
at
last
instead
appearing
before
the
commission
in
person
today,
his
counsel
moved
the
joint
petition.
