Himesh
Reshammiya
will
be
performing
and
recording
the
song
Om
Shanti
Om
for
the
Karz
remake
in
front
of
a
live
audience
at
Johannesburg
in
South
Africa
on
February
16.
It"s
grand!
The
director
of
Karz,
Satish
Kaushik,
reveals,
“This
may
be
one
of
those
rare
times
in
the
history
of
cinema
that
a
song
will
be
recorded
live
at
a
show
and
used
in
the
film.
When
Himesh
told
me
that
he
was
going
for
a
show
in
Jo"burg,
it
was
the
producer
Bhushan
Kumar"s
decision
to
shoot
for
the
song
in
front
of
a
live
audience.
The
lyrics
and
tune
have
been
inspired
from
the
original
song
in
Subhash
Ghai"s
Karz.
I
am
excited
about
re-making
it.
The
remake
of
Karz
will
be
an
exotic
thriller
with
the
theme
of
reincarnation."
Says
a
source
close
to
the
singer,
“Satish
will
be
shooting
Himesh"s
version
of
the
song
in
Jo"Burg
in
front
of
a
live
audience
of
20
thousand
people.
This
kind
of
grandeur
has
only
been
witnessed
before
in
the
videos
of
Bryan
Adams
where
he
has
combined
live
performances
with
films
shoots.
It
will
look
real
and
different
from
the
songs
which
are
shot
on
the
sets
with
a
limited
crowd."
A
lot
to
live
upto
The
source
adds,
“There
will
be
nothing
similar
except
the
situation
of
the
original
song.
The
composition
of
the
song,
the
look
and
the
choreography
will
be
absolutely
different
befitting
today"s
times.
In
the
song,
Himesh
will
have
both
looks
—
with
and
without
the
cap.
Himesh
is
toning
up
his
body
and
even
learning
dancing.
Rishi
Kapoor
danced
superbly
in
Karz,
so
Himesh
will
have
to
get
some
terrific
rhythm
as
a
dancer.
A
choreographer
will
be
finalized
shortly
to
decide
the
dance
steps
for
the
Om
Shanti
Om
song."
The
source
reveals,
“The
soul
and
essence
will
be
the
same
but
Satish
is
making
it
grand
to
suit
today"s
times."
