to perform at World Music concert

Indian Veena player , who plays in the Carnatic music style, is going to perform in World Music Series on July 21 at 7:30 pm. The concert will take place at the Rochester Civic Theatre, 30 Civic Center Drive S.E.

The tickets for the concert of Nirmala can be purchased at the Riverside Concerts office in City Hall, 328-2200 and also from the RCT box office, 282-8481. For the members of Riverside Concerts, the tickets will cost $13.50 and for non-members, it will cost $15.

Rajasekar is a teacher of Carnatic music and world renowned performer. She started learning Veena only at the age of six year in India and now lives in Minneapolis. She started performing as a soloist by the age of 13 years.

Nirmala will also offer free concert previews on Tuesday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Rochester Public Library.

The World Music Concert series is organized in association with the 'RACE: Are We So Different?" exhibition at the library.
