Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
has
composed
the
official
theme
song
of
World
Cup
2011.
They
have
composed
the
three
versions
of
the
song
titled
'De
Ghumaa
Ke" in
Bengali,
Hindi
and
Sinhalese.
The
tournament,
which
will
start
on
February
19,
will
be
held
in
the
three
nations
India,
Bangladesh
and
Sri
Lanka.
The
theme
song
'De
Ghumaa
Ke" is
a
very
passionate
number
aimed
to
create
the
fierce
sense
of
competition
and
the
strong
desire
to
win.
The
term
literally
means
'Hit
It
Hard"
and
it
is
one
word
used
by
all
the
cricket
fanatics
for
their
favorite
player
and
team.
So,
this
basic
theme
of
the
game
has
been
incorporated
in
the
song.
The
song
has
been
released
on
31st
December
through
different
radio
networks
in
India,
ICC"s
global
production
and
broadcast
rights
holder
ESPN
STAR
Sports.
We
are
just
one
and
half
month
away
from
the
grand
start
of
'World
Cup
2011"
and
they
have
given
this
enthusiastic
number
to
be
hummed
by
all
cricket
fanatics
till
then.
Speaking
about
this
composition,
Shankar
Mahadevan
stated
that
cricket
is
like
a
religion
in
India
so
they
feel
privileged
to
compose
this
anthem
for
World
Cup
this
year.
He
said
that
the
audience
will
get
enough
time
before
the
tournament
to
learn
the
song
by
heart.
Ehsaan
Noorani
added
that
they
have
used
several
colloquialisms
like
'jiyo
khiladi
wahe
wahe",
which
has
the
quality
to
raise
the
winning
spirit.
They
have
also
incorporated
a
lot
of
Indian
rhythms
as
well
as
rock
and
hip
hop.
