Sonu Nigam's mother passes away, cremated

Mumbai: Singer Sonu Nigam's mother Shobha Nigam is no more. Her last rights were performed here Friday morning. The 63-year-old passed away Thursday afternoon at 1:40 pm at her Andheri home.

The last rites of Shobha Nigam were performed at the Vile Parle crematorium at 9.30 am. Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who was present at the cremation, tweeted, "Dear friend Sonu Nigam's mother passed away after battling with cancer. May her soul rest in peace! Take care of yourself Sonu." Other Bollywood celebrities including Sajid-Wajid, Talat Aziz, Jatin Pandit and Bhushan Kumar were present at the cremation.
