Britney
Spears" woes
continue
to
intensify
as
she
is
now
being
investigated
for
possible
child
abuse.
The
news
comes
when
Spears
is
involved
in
a
legal
battle
with
ex-hubby
Kevin
Federline
over
the
custody
of
their
two
kids.
The
Los
Angeles
County
Department
of
Children
and
Family
Services
(DCFS)
has
accused
the
pop
star
of
being
an
unsuitable
mother
after
reports
of
her
erratic
behaviour
were
filed.
According
to
reports,
Los
Angeles
Superior
Court
took
up
an
unscheduled
court
hearing
on
August
2,
reports
the
TMZ.
Though
the
singer
was
absent
during
the
hearing,
her
lawyer
Dennis
Wasser
and
Federline"s
counsel
Mark
Kaplan
attended
the
proceedings.
The
hearing
raised
issue
about
Sean
Preston
and
Jayden
James" dental
hygiene,
and
poor
eating
and
sleeping
habits,
and
does
not
involve
physical
mistreatment
of
her
children.
Reports
also
said
that
K-fed
might
have
himself
filed
complaints
over
Spears"
parenting
skills,
according
to
the
Daily
Mail.
The
mum
of
two
has
been
repeatedly
charged
of
being
irresponsible.
Recently
she
is
said
to
have
spent
the
whole
night
with
magician
Criss
Angel
drinking
Dom
Perignon
champagne.
The
next
hearing
for
the
custody
case
has
been
scheduled
for
September
4.
The
star
has
been
cleared
as
a
threat
to
her
dogs
following
an
investigation
by
animal
welfare
authorities.
The
Society
For
The
Prevention
Of
Cruelty
To
Animals
(SPCA)
in
Los
Angeles
started
scrutinising
the
pop
tart
last
week
after
reports
surfaced
that
her
two
young
sons
were
responsible
for
Yorkshire
terrier
London's
broken
leg.
However,
now
the
SPCA
has
confirmed
that
Spears
is
a
caring
dog
owner
and
is
no
longer
on
the
dog
welfare
hit
list,
reports
People.
An
insider
reveals
that
apparently,
someone
accidentally
stepped
on
the
dog
when
it
made
its
way
into
one
of
Spears"s
closets.
The
authorities
contacted
the
vet
who
treated
the
little
dog
for
a
fracture
to
one
of
its
legs.
In
a
statement
SPCA
said
that
the
Los
Angeles
branch
"has
received
written
confirmation
from
a
veterinarian
that
Britney
Spears's
dog
London
has
received
proper
medical
attention
for
a
leg
injury."
"SPCA
would
like
to
thank
Ms.
Spears
for
her
cooperation
on
this
matter
as
well
as
members
of
the
public
for
their
ongoing
concern
for
the
welfare
of
animals,"
the
group
added.
Meanwhile,
Rihanna
has
slammed
troubled
celebrities
like
Britney
Spears
and
Lindsay
Lohan
for
not
being
in
control
of
their
lives.
The
Umbrella
hitmaker
believes
that
staying
in
control
and
leading
a
sober
life
is
the
key
to
remaining
on
the
straight
and
narrow.
The
19-year-old
singer
further
says
that
she
fails
to
understand
why
troubled
young
celebrities
take
so
long
to
seek
help."It's
sad
and
I
can't
understand
it.
I
sympathise
with
those
girls
and
I
want
it
to
stop.
I
do
not
understand
why
they
don't
wanna
help
themselves.
It's
crazy,"
Contactmusic
quoted
her,
as
saying.
"I
have
to
feel
like
I'm
on
my
feet.
The
moment
I
feel
a
little
iffy,
I
have
to
snap
out,
get
back
on
my
feet.
I
can't
understand
how
people
let
it
get
that
far.
To
me
you
have
to
have
control,"
she
added.
