Jennifer Lopez on American Idol

Jennifer Lopez is to perform on 'American Idol'. The singer-and-actress, whose next album Como Ama Una Mujer' comes out at the end of March, is set to appear on the popular talent show on April 11, according to US TV show Access Hollywood. J.Lo will follow in the footsteps of Prince, Mary J. Blige and Shakira, who have all taken to the 'American Idol' stage. The next phase of the competition sees the final 24 contestants - 12 men and 12 women - battle it out for a place in the final 12.

However, one pop superstar who is not going to appear is Michael Jackson. Michael's spokesman Raymone Bain told Access Hollywood: "There i absolutely no truth to the rumour that Michael is going to appear on 'American Idol'. He has signed no agreements with anyone." 'American Idol' is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and judged by Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.
