Kid Rock assaults Tommy Lee

Las Vegas police has ordered Kid Rock to appear in the court on Oct 7, 2007 for assaulting rocker Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept 9, 2007. Rock was expelled from the Nevada ceremony in front of thousands of fans after punching Lee.

A spokesman for the Las Vegas Police Department told TMZ.com that though both the rockers were not arrested during the episode, they were questioend by local authorities later on and Rock received a citation for misdemeanour assault.

"A little after 8.00pm last night we received a call that a disturbance had occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards," Contactmusic quoted the spokesman, as telling TMZ.com. “We had a lot of officers working in and around the awards so they got her fairly quickly. We determined that the altercation was between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. "After our investigation, Kid Rock did receive a citation for misdemeanour battery. Everyone involved was interviewed," spokesman added.

Kid Rock might end up spending six months in jail for the punch.

Both rockers have been married to former Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson, but it remains unclear if she was the cause of the fight.
