    Amy Winehouse waiting for TV debut

    Washington (ANI): Singer Amy Winehouse is all set to act in the new series of Dr Who, it has emerged. According to NME magazine, the 'Rehab' hitmaker will be reprising the role of the villainess The Rani, which was made famous by actress Kate O'mara in the 1980s. The Rani is an evil scientific genius rouge time lord who in previous series of the hit TV show has enslaved entire planets.

    With this project, the 'Back To Black' singer will make her first acting debut on the TV screen. According to sources, Winehouse is very excited about the role as she is a "massive fan" of the show. "She was a total Dr Who nerd as a kid," Contactmusic quoted the source, as saying.

    "Her and Blake have all the DVDs in their flat. She once even told people at the Hawley Arms that she had a massive crush on [fourth Doctor] Tom Baker when he visited the pub," the source added.
