The Beatles licensing key songs for video game

Washington (ANI): British rock band 'The Beatles' are heading for a new venture following the announcement that MTV's 'Rock Band' video game will be featuring their songs. The band is licensing key songs for a video game that is set to appear for Christmas in 2009.

Sources have revealed that Sir Paul McCartney has already seen and approved a demo of the game, Fox News reported. Rumours are rife that the 'Rock Band' game is very good, and that it should include classics like 'Revolution', 'Helter Skelter', and 'Hey Jude'.

The Beatles have never licensed their master recordings for anything, especially movies or TV. Putting together 'Rock Band' with their songs is an accomplishment for MTV's Judy McGrath and Van Toffler, and shows that Apple Corps' Jeff Jones is set to bring the Beatles into the 21st century.

The Beatles make a fortune just off the sales of their CDs, and they have stayed away from things like ITunes and other services.
