New York (ANI): Pop princess Britney Spears was given the ''Best Female Video'' award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. It is Spears' first time to win an MTV Award after she had been nominated 16 times, and this time she swept three of the biggest prizes Best Female, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year for her "Piece of Me" clip.
"I'm in shock right now," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying after bagging the prizes. The singer had opened up the show with a comedy skit with geeky "Superbad" actor Jonah Hill, but the kissing act the overweight actor tried on her did not amuse the audience.
The Toxic singer then went on to welcome the crowd in a cheerful voice, acknowledging the event's big day, its 25th anniversary.
