Britney's mom criticizes partiality in teens' pregnancy

New York (ANI): Britney Spears' mother is not happy with the way the world attacked her younger daughter Jamie Lynn over her pregnancy, and celebrated that of Bristol, daughter of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Lynn Spears complained that the media and public have had a 'totally different reaction' to the pregnancies of both teenagers.

"I mean, the mother, [Sarah] Palin, was celebrated for this. Every woman in the world has applauded her strength and her convictions and poor little old Jamie Lynn - you saw how she was crucified. Everybody did, firsthand ... I just feel like it's been a very hypocritical situation," the New York Daily News quoted her, as telling Newsweek.

Jamie Lynn Spears was 16 when she announced her pregnancy in December of last year. Her daughter, Maddie, arrived in June. Bristol Palin, 17, is five months pregnant. The Palins said in a statement announcing the teen's pregnancy that Bristol and the baby's father, 18-year-old Levi Johnson, will get married.

"Do I promote teen sex? Of course not. Do I promote teen pregnancy? Needless to say, of course not. But when it happens, you deal with it and you do the best you can do," said Lynne Spears.
