London (ANI): Singer Katy Perry has been slammed by the critics for trying to glamorise knives in a photo, especially after reports about the stabbing of a teen were published. The 23-year-old, who sold a staggering five million copies of chart topping hit 'I Kissed a Girl', has reportedly incurred the wrath of critics by posing with a knife.

The picture of the American singer-songwriter emerged just as a 16-year-old Army cadet was reportedly killed with multiple stab wounds by a gang of self-proclaimed 'defenders' in Liverpool. Though the image was allegedly meant to make the pop star look 'edgy', the critics said that she was 'out of her mind' for trying to make knives look fashionable, reports the Sun.

Such spotlight-stealing attempts are said to have come in stark contrast with reality-stricken families grieving the death of their teen kids killed by the blade.
