Washington
(ANI):
British
pop
star
Lily
Allen
has
revealed
why
she
recorded
her
own
version
of
Britney
Spears'
latest
hit
song
'Womanizer',
because
she
simply
loves
the
'Toxic'
star.
The
'Smile'
singer
recently
recorded
her
own
version
of
Spears'
single
and
passed
it
on
to
her
pal
Mark
Ronson,
who
aired
the
record
on
his
weekly
New
York
show
'Authentic
S--'
on
December
12.
Since
then,
fans
have
copied
the
track
and
posted
it
online,
much
to
the
annoyance
of
bosses
at
Allen's
EMI
record
label.
Apologizing
for
the
blunder
on
her
MySpace
blog,
Allen
has
revealed
that
she
recorded
the
cover
song
'a
stripped-down,
piano-backed
version
of
Spears'
synth-heavy
original'
because
she
loves
Britney.
"[It's]
simple,
really.
I
love
Britney
and
I
love
the
song," People
quoted
Allen
as
writing
in
her
blog.
The
singer,
whose
sophomore
album
'It's
Not
Me,
It's
You'
is
due
out
in
February,
added:
"Mark
Ronson
asked
me
for
something
no
one
had
heard
to
play
on
his
radio
show
and
'Womanizer'
was
the
only
song
I
had
as
an
attachment
on
my
BlackBerry
and
I
couldn't
get
home
to
send
him
anything
else
in
time.
I
had
asked
[Mark]
to
talk
all
over
it
so
it
wouldn't
get
ripped,
but
he
didn't,
thanks
Mark
for
getting
me
in
serious
trouble
with
my
record
company."
