London (ANI): British singers Estelle Swaray and Leona Lewis leaded the way at the annual Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards after each scooping two gongs at the function. The London-born artist won over her American rivals at the award function co-hosted by former Spice Girl Melanie Brown at London's Wembley Arena. Leona Lewis dominated the 'Best Album' category for 'Spirit' and took award for 'Best Video' for 'Bleeding Love'.

"The Mobo Awards have continued to grow in strength for the past 13 years and I'm particularly delighted that British talent through artists such as Estelle and Leona receive the recognition they justly deserve," the Sun quoted Kanya King, founder and CEO of Mobo, as saying.

"I hope that we can inspire a new generation of talent to follow their lead and fulfil their dreams to one day appear on our show," King added.

Rapper Dizzee Rascal was named 'Best UK Male' for the second time and young MC Chipmunk was titled 'Best UK Newcomer'.
