Cowell surprises BGT judges with Brook's signing

London (ANI): Simon Cowell took the judges and hosts of 'Britain's Got Talent' by surprise, by keeping Kelly Brook's signing as a co-judge on the show a secret. Everyone including his fellow judges Piers Morgan, 43, and Amanda Holden, 37, were unaware that Kelly would be joining them.

Even the show's hosts, Ant and Dec, both 33, were kept in dark as Cowell, the show's boss kept his cards close to his chest. While Cowell, 49, managed to get Kelly to keep mum about her new appointment, her dramatic appearance the night before filming started caused mayhem at ITV.

"It was the best-kept showbiz secret since Matt Smith was signed up as the new Doctor Who," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying. The source added: "It's not just fans who were in shock about Kelly Brook being a judge. Heaven knows how it didn't leak out. Simon really managed to play this one close to his chest. It's just been a complete surprise and such a sudden one."
