Guy Ritchie's pub under investigation over noise

London (ANI): Brit director Guy Ritchie"s London pub is said to be under investigation after locals complained about there being too much noise. Ritchie, 40, who bought The Punchbowl in Mayfair when he was married to Madonna, is at risk of losing his licence after 37 complaints were made.

Now Westminster Council has hung a microphone outside a neighbouring flat to monitor noise levels. “When Madonna and co bought it, it attracted people who have simply come to see where her pub is," the Daily Express quoted Sarah Venkata, a medical scientist who lives opposite the pub, as saying.

“The street has become a lot noisier. That is undoubtedly down to the pub," she said. A council spokeswoman has said that revoking the licence was the ultimate sanction.

It is more likely that, if officers did find there was a problem, the licence might be altered to make the pub close earlier or prevent people drinking outside at all. The venue is frequented by celebs, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Prince William, Princess Beatrice, Paris Hilton, Jude Law and Girls Aloud.
