Jacko once lost art masterpiece bid to Sylvester

New York (ANI): Late King of Pop Michael Jackson once apparently lost an art masterpiece bid to Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone. Manhattan art collector Stuart Pivar recalled the time when the 'Thriller' star paid a visit to his Central Park West duplex to see 19th-century French painter William Bouguereau's masterpiece 'Pieta'.

The singer was said to have been transfixed with the 12-foot-tall painting of Mary holding a dead Jesus. "He said one word over and over during that whole time 'Awesome'!" the New York Post quoted Pivar as saying.

Jackson reportedly sent his entourage into the foyer later, while he kept admiring the masterpiece. However, Stallone allegedly put in his bid first.
