He was born for 'History". His untimely and unexpected demise has shocked the world, especially music lovers, as much as his rise to fame. His life itself was a sort of mystery. The man who sang “Heal the World" left the world unaware. Now, there is no one to heal the broken hearts of his fans. We are talking about King of Pop Michael Jackson.

If there was one man who changed the phase of entertainment, it has to be Michael Jackson. He was a complete entertainer and performer who knows what people exactly wants. If his songs like “I Want You Back", “Bad", “I"ll Be There", “Man in the Mirror", “Billie Jean" and “Black or White" rocked the world; songs like “Heal the World" and “We are the World" inspired and touched the hearts of the people.

At the peak of his career, he was indisputably the biggest star in the world, selling over 750 million albums. His album Thriller, released in 1982, became the largest selling album of all time.

Michael Jackson was not just a great musician. The way he perfectly synchronized dance steps with music was in itself a feat. His 'Moonwalk" was simple irresistible. In fact, it penetrated into many forms of dance all over the world. Film industries like Hollywood and Bollywood are not unfamiliar to his dance.

Life was not a cakewalk for the King of Pop. Michael Jackson had to deal with many things in his lifetime that he might not anticipate. Controversy dogged him all through his life and even in his death. His multiple plastic surgeries, changing his dark skin to white, were topic of debate at one point of time. He was at an all time low when he was charged with child molestation case, which almost pushed him to bankruptcy. He was however acquitted of all the charges leveled against him.

In spite of the controversies and age (50), Michael never gave up his love – music. He was all set for a comeback when the tragedy struck. He had been scheduled to perform 50 concerts at the O2 arena in London beginning next month, which would end in 2010. The sold out shows were expected to earn him up to $50 million. The postponement of his first concert from July 8 to July 13 fueled the speculation about his health, as he was said to have skin cancer.

The world will continue to speculate on his life and his death itself, whether he died of cardiac arrest or overdose of prescription drugs, but one thing is for sure – he has left a vacuum that nothing can replace. Michael, like any human being was not perfect but he was almost perfect as an artiste and entertainer if not completely perfect.

Who knows if the world will not come across another great entertainer like Michael Jackson, whose music transcended all ages, races and nationalities! The fans of the musician will certainly find hard to come to terms with the lost but they can take solace in the quote of the singer:-

“If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."

You will be missed Michael Jackson!
