Jacko's portrait sells for more than $1m

London, (ANI): A Michael Jackson portrait created by King of Pop Art Andy Warhol in 1984 has sold for an undisclosed amount at auction in New York. The Vered Art Gallery, in Long Island, said that an anonymous buyer had "paid over 1 million dollars" for the artwork.

The painting was displayed at London's O2 Arena ahead of the sale, reports the BBC. The 76cm by 66cm piece was commissioned to celebrate the record sales of Jackson's album 'Thriller'. Warhol's portrait of actress Elizabeth Taylor fetched a whopping 23.7 million dollars in 2007.
