London (ANI): Irish rockers u2 have promised to help the next generation of musicians in their homeland with more than 4million pounds. They said that they were planning to jointly fund a scheme that offers Irish youngsters the chance to learn an instrument or have vocal tuition.

According to reports, the scheme will be run by Music Network. The Ireland Funds will raise a further 1.7million pounds for it. “Being around music at a young age was important for us and we were lucky to have it at school," the Daily Star quoted u2 guitarist The Edge, 47, as saying.
