Aerosmith sued over cancelled Canada tour

London (ANI): Rock group Aerosmith have been sued by promoters in Canada for cancelling a series of shows in the country in 2009. The band called off a number of gigs of its North American tour in 2009 after lead singer Steven Tyler broke his left shoulder falling from the stage at a performance in South Dakota.

The cancelled dates included five concerts in Canada that had to be held in August 2009. Officials at Keystone Entertainment Group Ltd. have now filed suit against the band accusing them of a breach of contract by cancelling the shows and failing to respond to requests to reschedule the dates.

The legal papers were filed in a Calgary court. The papers claimed that bosses at Keystone tried to contact members of the band in an attempt to plan new concers in September 2009 but they did not get any response, reports The Daily Express. According to the Toronto Sun, the lawsuit claimed damages amounting 4 million pounds for lost ticket sales and profits for the five concerts.
