Simon Cowell tells Cheryl Cole not to go back to husband

London (ANI): Simon Cowell has reportedly helped heartbroken X Factor co-judge Cheryl Cole reach the decision that her three-and-a-half-year marriage with love cheat Ashley is over for good.

According to reports, Cowell is guiding Cheryl about her next move and giving her the confidence to feel she can go it alone, reports The Mirror. A source close to Cowell said: "Simon has been having fatherly chats with her. He feels Cheryl is his protege since he put her on X Factor. He loves her to bits and is very protective of her.

"He has told her he is on the end of the phone whenever she needs to speak, day or night, and it is Simon who is backing Cheryl's decision to leave Ashley all the way. She had been wobbling over her decision but stuck to her guns whenSimon told her, You need to get out of this situation. You need to think of yourself."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the singer is planning to quit the Surrey home she shared with the soccer star.
