Jennifer Lopez's demands cost her American Idol

New York, (ANI): Jennifer Lopez is out of the running as the judge for hit television program American Idol next season, according to reports. According to People magazine, Lopez is no longer being considered to be a judge on American Idol after her diva act wore thin on Fox executives.

"Her demands got out of hand. Fox had just had enough," the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.

Singer-actress Lopez was close to an agreement to join the ever-popular program, which lost judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres after its ninth season. Lopez and Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler emerged as front-runners for the spots until the Latina superstar was bumped.

Fox officials have refused to say who was coming aboard the show, or even if incumbent judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi are returning. They did say there's a mid-September target to fill out the panel, whether it stays at three or four.
