London
(ANI):
It"s
official
now.
After
all
that
denying,
Mariah
Carey's
husband
Nick
Cannon
has
finally
confirmed
that
the
couple
is
expecting
twins.
And
who
managed
to
get
the
news
out
of
the
star
couple?
US
President
Barack
Obama
and
first
lady
Michelle
Obama.
The
radio
DJ
told
listeners
of
his
radio
show
'Rollin
With
Nick
Cannon" on
Thursday
that
they
were
having
twins
and
the
President
and
his
wife
were
the
first
to
be
privy
to
the
secret,
reports
the
Daily
Mail.
He
said
Mariah
Carey
spilled
the
details
when
the
Obamas
asked
her
about
the
pregnancy
backstage
at
TNT's
'Christmas
in
Washington"
last
Sunday.
“They,
ironically
enough,
questioned
my
wife
about,
you
know,
"So,
what
are
you
having,
are
you
having
twins?""
he
said.
“And
at
this
point
she
hadn't
told
anybody
anything
because
doctors
advised
us
to
keep
it
to
ourselves
until
we
get
further
along,"
Cannon
added.
“And
because
of
the
excitement,
because
of
the
emotion,
she
was
overwhelmed
[and]
she
shared
with
the
president
and
first
lady
that
we
are
having
twins.:"
the
singer
said.
In
a
recent
radio
interview,
Carey,
40,
had
referred
to
her
unborn
child
as
'they",
saying,
“I
just
hope
that
they
don't
turn
out
hating
Christmas".
The
reference
to
'they"
had
the
rumour
mill
buzzing
that
the
couple
might
be
expecting
twins.
But
last
week,
Cannon
was
attempting
to
cover
up
the
slip-up,
explaining
that
Carey
used
the
plural
term
to
cover
both
male
and
female
sexes.
But
thanks
to
the
Obamas,
the
cat
is
now
well
and
truly
out
of
the
bag.
Carey
said
she
had
been
'excited"
to
share
the
news
with
the
President
and
the
First
Lady
and
it
had
been
a
'very
special
moment".
The
twins
are
expected
in
the
spring,
but
the
couple
have
not
revealed
the
babies"
due
date.
