London
(ANI):
Cabaret
legend
Liza
Minnelli
is
reportedly
lined
up
to
replace
Alesha
Dixon
on
dancing
talent
show
'Strictly
Come
Dancing".
However,
the
63-year-old
star
has
to
first
get
her
knee
replaced.
Producers
are
holding
talks
to
discuss
the
future
of
Alesha,
31,
a
former
winner
of
the
competition.
“After
such
a
hoo-ha
getting
Alesha
in
for
Arlene
in
the
first
place,
it
would
be
embarrassing
to
get
rid
of
her
so
soon," the
Mirror
quoted
a
source
as
saying.
“But
Alesha
has
divided
public
opinion
–
and
that
of
the
panel.
Whilst
head
judge
Len
Goodman
likes
her,
there
are
concerns
she
did
not
appeal
to
the
younger
viewers
she
was
brought
in
to
attract."
“Alesha
got
off
to
a
very
shaky
start
but
did
improve.
Despite
this,
her
future
is
believed
to
be
hanging
by
a
thread.
Liza
has
international
appeal
and
real
star
billing.
She
is
a
singer
and
dancer,
and
Hollywood
through
and
through.
Her
experience
in
the
showbiz
industry
would
be
a
real
coup
–
plus
she
has
the
personality
to
match,"
added
the
source.
Liza
is
currently
recovering
from
replacement
knee
surgery
and
is
expected
to
miss
this
weekend"s
Grammys.
It
would
take
her
two
to
three
months
to
recover
and
then
she
would
be
fit
to
take
part
in
the
BBC1
show.
“Another
option
is
to
create
a
five-person
panel
–
or
even
get
Liza
involved
in
an
'advisory
role",
like
Brian
Friedman
on
the
X
Factor,"
added
the
insider.
