London
(ANI):
Don"t
panic
if
you
see
Lionel
Richie
hurtling
through
a
glass
window
in
a
frenzied
attempt
to
steal
a
packet
of
Walkers
crisps
from
Gary
Lineker,
for
it
is
only
for
a
new
advert.
The
stunt
is
part
of
a
new
advertising
campaign
in
which
the
US
singer
pulls
out
all
the
stops
to
rob
the
Match
of
the
Day
host
of
a
packet
of
Walkers
Extra
Crunchy
crisps.
Lineker
is
seen
dangling
from
a
parachute
in
his
efforts
to
get
away
from
Richie,
who
is
later
sent
crashing
through
a
glass
window
in
hot
pursuit.
The
former
Commodores
frontman
performs
a
revamped
version
of
his
hit
'Say
You
Say
Me" for
the
campaign,
singing
instead
'Share
You,
Share
Me'.
It
is
Richie"s
first
appearance
in
a
television
ad
for
30
years.
“When
I
saw
the
script
for
this
ad,
I
just
wanted
to
fly
over
straight
away
to
London
to
start
filming,"
the
Telegraph
quoted
him
as
saying.
“I
like
to
surprise
people
and
try
new
things
and
I
think
people
will
be
quite
surprised
when
they
see
this,
particularly
when
I
come
flying
through
a
window."
Lineker,
who
has
starred
in
more
than
90
Walkers
ads,
said:
“Lionel
was
wonderful
to
work
with.
He's
a
lovely
guy
and
he
really
got
into
the
role
quickly.
He
made
us
all
laugh
a
lot
on
set,"
he
added.
The
30-second
ad,
which
winds
up
with
the
pay-off
line:
“ew
thicker
cut
Walkers
Extra
Crunchy
–
made
for
sharing
...
sometimes,"
will
be
screened
for
the
first
time
on
Friday.
