Ronnie Wood pays tribute to Alex Higgins

London (ANI): Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood has paid tribute to his late pal and World Champion snooker player Alex Higgins. Higgins, who endured a lengthy battle with throat cancer, was found dead at his home in his native Belfast, Northern Ireland, on July 24, aged 61.

According to the Sun, Wood, 63, who was a long-time friend of Higgins, was left devastated by his death. “I miss him already. He was a terrific guy and a good friend. Much of my love of snooker came from watching him - just magic," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

“He was a brave and courageous player, as he was to prove in his last great fight against cancer. God bless our Alex," he added.
