Roman
Catholic
Church
in
Scotland
has
expressed
interest
in
securing
the
services
of
Susan
Boyle
to
sing
during
the
Pope
Benedict
XVI"s
visit
to
the
UK
later
this
year.
A
spokesperson
for
the
church
said
that
a
meeting
is
likely
to
be
held
to
discuss
the
participation
of
the
49-year-old
singer.
He
added
that
Boyle
would
be
a
'great
asset" for
the
events
planned
for
Benedict"s
trip
in
September.
"She
certainly
would
be
a
great
asset
to
the
program
on
the
day
and
we
hope
to
be
able
to
discuss
the
possibility
of
her
participation
soon,"
News.com.au
quoted
the
spokesman
as
saying.
There
was
no
confirmed
agreement
with
the
star
as
yet
and
no
formal
invitation
or
approach
had
been
made,
he
added.
