Amy Winehouse's ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil had said that the death of his ex-wife had left him heart-broken but he was banned from attending her funeral. Blake, who is serving 32 months jail sentence for burglary and a firearm offense, was denied compassionate leave from Armley prison to attend the funeral.
Amy's father Mitch had reportedly warned him to stay away from the funeral service of his daughter. “Mitch thinks it would be a complete insult for him to be there and if he really loved Amy, he wouldn't cause any more heartache by showing up. He will always believe Blake is responsible for getting his daughter hooked on Class A drugs which marked the beginning of her self-destruction," The Sun quoted a source close to the singer's family as saying.
Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil married in 2007 and got divorced two years later. Her life took a U-turn after parting ways with Blake. He was found death at her London residence on July 23, and the cause of her death is yet to be found out. Her funeral took place yesterday (July 26) at a private ceremony.
