It is well known to everyone that the X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has planned to rope in singer Cheryl Cole as a judge for the US version of The X Factor. But popular celebrity gossiper Perez Hilton has described her recruitment as a big disappointment. He says that people in US would struggle to understand her accent. So she would be a big let down in the US market.
Perez Hilton's blasting comes after it was reported that Cheryl Cole would be offered a role as Simon"s helper, like singer Sinitta on the UK version. The celebrity gossiper thinks that it would be disastrous if Simon Cowell gave Cheryl Cole a place on the US judging panel. The reason behind it is that no-one over there knows her. Writing on his blog, he clarified, "We never said Cheryl Cole is a nobody! We said she's… a nobody in America!"
The celebrity blogger opins that Cheryl is not marketable in US. He writes, "People just don"t know who she is over there and people struggle to understand what she is saying. Simon is consoling her with the offer of helping him win the first series, which would give her profile a massive boost. If audiences and contestants can't understand her, it is actually a regulatory offense."
However, sources claimed that Cheryl Cole has been rejected as a possible candidate for a judging post on the show because Fox network bosses 'struggled' to understand what she was saying during screen tests. It is believed that she might be offered Sinitta's' role of being a special helper to Simon Cowell.
